Technical Session Frequently Asked Questions
How much presentation time do I have?
Thirty (30) minutes is provided for each paper to be presented. This normally means about 20 minutes of presentation, 5 minutes for questions, and 5 minutes for introduction of author bio.
Do I get introduced?
We ask that each author provide their session chair a short bio which can be used to introduce the author. Please limit your information to 4 to 8 sentences.
Will there be a projector?
A projector and a laptop will be set-up for our session. All presentations will be set-up on one laptop in advance as it will speed the transition between authors.
What operation system and Office applications are on the laptop, as I don’t want to carry my laptop to the conference?
Presentations will be presented in Microsoft Power Point on a Windows PC. Please bring your presentation in a memory stick or CD.
I want hard copies of my presentation charts distributed.
The ICNS Committee does not distribute the presentations at the event. Thus, if an author wants to have their presentation handed out, they must bring their own copies.
What if I can’t attend?
Please let your session chair and Donna Clements know as soon as possible. If there are others from your firm or organization attending, the ICNS Conference will arrange for them to make the presentation. If not, please attempt to find a substitute that can attend.
I need to change the date I can present.
Let both the session chair and Donna Clements know as soon as you have identified a problem and we will try to work something out. Don’t assume that you will be excluded — give the Session Chair a chance to work out the schedule.
I am running late on getting the paper/presentation submitted.
Let both the session chair and Donna Clements know your status. If really late, you will miss the publishing date for the ICNS Conference proceedings.
