Presented by Philippe Merlo, Director Air Traffic Management, EUROCONTROL

Philippe Merlo
Philippe Merlo is responsible for the areas of air traffic management, research and development, including the respective relations to international bodies such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

His keynote will evaluate the progress achieved in the CNS roadmaps in the recent years, reviewing the persistent challenges before enabling a breakthrough, while discussing how to steer the path forward.

Plenary Program

Global Harmonization

The conference continues on Tuesday with an international perspective on global harmonization including updates from ICAO as well as NextGen, SESAR, and Japan’s Carats modernization programs from senior representatives from each of the respective organizations. Representatives from two major commercial airframe manufacturers will provide updates on their CNS equipage plans.

In keeping with the theme of the conference, presenters will provide a perspective on internal and external influences which are impacting many of their major program and implementation decisions.

We will also focus on one of the hottest topic confronting all CAA today, cybersecurity. Updates will be provided on the ICAO INNOVA program and the ongoing efforts to define the data security requirements and technologies considered to achieve these levels of performance.
